In the past five years the FCC, or Federal Communications Commission, has been cracking down on things they consider inappropriate on television. Many television shows are getter higher maturity ratings and airing much later at night. Possibly the biggest example of this, though, is the many fines that have been imposed for things that have happened on live tv. One of the most memorable was during the 2004 Super Bowl. The half-time show featured major music industry players Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. When she was accidentally exposed through a “wardrobe malfunction” the FCC levied a $550,000 fine. It was overturned in 2008.
