Since Adam and Eve transgressed the law and fell, all mankind is under the affect of that fall, and has the need of a Savior. This mormon doctrine of our First Parents transgressing the law so that they could start bringing their spirit children into mortality, also created a need for a Savior. Mormons believe that Adam and Eve were supposed to transgress the law, as part of the Plan of Happiness, and that our Savior, Jesus of Nazareth, would make amends for the effects of the fall, and all of those who would repent and return to God through His Atoning sacrifice, would receive great blessings.
