When you’re under stress, your breathing becomes shallow and rapid. You can use yoga breathing for stress relief. Do any pranayama exercises which you have learned at your yoga classes, or simply close your eyes for a few moments and just focus on your breathing. Take several long slow deep breaths, without straining, and then open your eyes. How do you feel now? You should feel a lot better. If you’re still feeling stressed and anxious, close your eyes again and take several more long slow deep breaths, then breathe normally, focusing on your belly. Do you feel better? Yoga breathing can help your stress relief every day.
