I have always known that chocolate was a beneficial food. It gives a person quick energy and makes them feel good. It does not, as many people think, have any effect on acne or cholesterol. However, until I read some Fun Chocolate Facts, I did not know that it can also combat depression. It has a substance known as tryptophan, which helps the body to manufacture serotonin. Serotonin is a natural antidepressant. So the next time that you find yourself down in the dumps, reach for a chocolate bar instead of a pill. Not only will it taste better, but it will be better for the body.
