My job as recreation director at a nursing home can be very challenging.  I am responsible for finding ways to keep our residents entertained.  One of their favorite pastimes is sitting in the sun room and watching TV, but I try to find other ways to occupy their time.  Many of the folks who still have good eyesight enjoy reading and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  Recorded books are used by the residents who experience poor eyesight or cannot hold a book.  I try to come up with appropriate arts and craft ideas because the ladies seem to enjoy these projects the most.  Even with the challenges I face to find fresh ideas, my job is very rewarding.  I love to see the look of accomplishment on the faces of the residents when they successfully complete a project.
